Pastor Matt loves to reach out to all people and share with them the good news of Jesus Christ. He finds great joy in talking to people, especially when he gets to preach and teach to his family here at our Shepherd! Pastor Matt has a wife, Tracie Douglas, and four children, Isaac, Levi, Eden, and Lydia. In his free time, he loves to spend time with his family, take walks, watch movies, and eat good food. Pastor Matt graduated from Concordia Chicago in 2008 with his BA in Elementary Education. After teaching for a time at Trinity Lutheran School in Grand Island, NE, he accepted his calling from God to pursue the Pastoral Office and so left Nebraska in 2012, traveling to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. On July 9, 2016, Pastor Matt was Ordained at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and School and serves his family here with great joy! In February 2022, Pastor Matt was Installed as Senior Pastor.

Pastor Kyle Borcherding
Worship Pastor

Pastor Kyle Borcherding enjoys seeing how music and theology intersect and complement one another, particularly in worship. He leads the contemporary band, the brass ensemble, and helps plan worship services. Kyle is a graduate of Concordia University in Irvine, California, where he studied Theology, Worship Arts and Biblical Languages. He was Ordained as Worship Pastor in January 2021.

Pastor Andy Berg

Pastor Andy graduated with his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis on May 20, 2022. He received a Divine Call on April 28, 2022. Pastor Andy was Ordained and Installed on July 10, 2022. He looks forward to serving as Our Shepherd’s Associate Pastor with the guidance and leadership of the Holy Spirit, preaching and teaching about our Lord, Jesus Christ. In particular, he will focus on connecting our community with the forgiveness, life, and salvation that our Lord graciously promises to us in His Word and Sacraments.

Arlyn Meyer

Arlyn finds joy in helping people connect with God’s Word and encouraging them to live out the Christian faith
in their daily lives. He began serving in youth and family ministry in 2003, and then completed the DCE Colloquy
program in 2009 through Concordia University, St. Paul, MN. He was installed as Director of Christian Education at
Our Shepherd in 2022 and continues to support families of all ages in their walk with the Lord.
Arlyn is married to Amanda and has two children, Autumn and Noah; and enjoys music, sports, spending time with
his family, and being outdoors.

Heather Abernathy is our full-time Church Relations Director. She is responsible for helping our guests feel welcome, membership-related ministry, church communications and service preparation.

Steve Klatte

Steve's primary role as the Business Manager is to provide staff oversight of financial records, human resources administration, and facility management at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and School. His role encompasses a variety of support functions including, but not limited to, bookkeeping, donor records management, human resources and benefits administration, and facilities management.

Director of Sanctuary Music / Band & Choir Teacher / Director

Steve is our Director of Sanctuary Music. He plays the organ for our traditional worship services. He also directs our special music groups, which include choirs, brass ensembles, and handbells. Steve also teaches choir and band classes for our students.
