Volunteer Opportunities at Our Shepherd

Food Pantry

Our Shepherd manages an active food pantry to assist members of our community. You may deposit your donations for this ministry in the narthex. You may also assist with the sorting and distribution of food on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of each month. Please arrive at church by 9:30 a.m. If you have any questions or would like to help please contact David Rieger

The Mowing Team

Help maintain the church and school property.  Mowing crews consist of 4 people assigned one week to mow and trim the area immediately around the facility about every 5-6 weeks.  If interested in helping or for more information, email Craig Goldhammer.

Contemporary Worship Singers and Musicians

The bands for our contemporary worship services are made up of instrumentalists and singers with various experience levels, and we are always looking to add more musicians. For more information, email our Worship Director, Kyle Borcherding.

Worship Volunteers

In order to maintain excellence and consistency during our worship services, we need volunteer support. We are always looking for new Duty Elders, Ushers, Lay Readers, Musicians, A/V support, and Building Maintenance personnel. For more information, email our Worship Director, Kyle Borcherding.

Greeters

If you have a gift for hospitality and a passion for welcoming people into our church home - we need YOU! Training is available, and scheduling is flexible. Couples, pairs and family groups can be scheduled together, too! For more information, contact Heather Abernathy.

Moppetts Child Care Helpers

Our Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) chapter is looking for loving caregivers to watch our children aged 6 months to 5 years during our monthly meetings. We meet at Our Shepherd the second Monday of the month from 9-11 am September through April. Caregivers must have a current Criminal History Check on file with the church office in order to volunteer. For more information or to sign up for a shift, contact Michelle Borcherding.

The Ladies Guild

The Our Shepherd chapter of the LWML (Lutheran Women in Mission) meets monthly on the 4th Tuesday at 7 p.m. Their purpose is to give glory to God through education, mission work, fellowship and service within the Our Shepherd family, the Indiana District, and the world through missions projects. For more information, contact Alice Farley.
