Jim Landskroner
Principal
 Jim,
the youngest of five boys, was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on
January 10, 1969. He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church
in Evansdale, Iowa. His father, who is an LCMS pastor, took a
call to Cleveland, Ohio, when Jim was a baby. While there, Jim
attended St. John Lutheran School in Garfield Heights, Ohio, and
then Lutheran High School East in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He
went on to Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska, where he
received his BS degree in Education in 1991.
His teaching
career began at Trinity Lutheran School in Toledo, Ohio, as a
sixth grade teacher. He then took a call to Peace Lutheran
School in Shelby Township, Michigan, where he again taught sixth
grade as well as directed their athletic program. While serving
at Peace, he earned his MAT in Curriculum, Instruction, and
Leadership from Oakland University. He also completed Master’s
classes at Wayne State University to be certified to teach K-12.
Eventually, he went on to teach fifth grade at St. John Lutheran
School in Rochester, Michigan.
In 2000, he
accepted the call to serve Our Shepherd as principal. He enjoys
the position that God has put him in and is excited by the
challenges at Our Shepherd.
Jim
married Ellen Schlueter in July of 1994. Ellen was also a
Lutheran School teacher. God has blessed their marriage with
two children - Abigail, born in October of 2002, and Noah, born
in November of 2004. In his spare time, Jim enjoys taking his
family on outings to the zoo, parks, and museums in the city.
He also enjoys reading, watching sporting events, and being
active outdoors.
