I was born in Crown Point, IN. Growing up I
attended grade school at Trinity Lutheran School in Crown
Point. During my High School years, I enjoyed volunteering and
teaching at church during Sunday School and Vacation Bible
School.
I received my BA in Elementary Education with
my Lutheran teaching degree from Concordia University Ann Arbor,
MI. My specialty was in English/Language Arts.
After getting married and graduating, I moved
to Fort Wayne, IN where my husband attended Concordia
Theological Seminary. After a few years working in day care
settings and with developmentally disabled adults, God led me to
my first teaching position at Emmaus Lutheran School in Fort
Wayne. At Emmaus I taught English classes for the 4th -8th grade
students and was the computer coordinator. My homeroom classes
were 5th and 6th grade for my first 7
years, and then I moved to homeroom for 7th and 8th
grade for my final 3 years. My ministry lasted their ten years
until God called me and my family to Our Shepherd.
Currently I am the 4th grade teacher which
gives me the opportunity to teach a full day in a self contained
classroom. I am enthusiastic and blessed to be apart of God's
grand work at Our Shepherd, and I look forward to serving the
children and their families in the years to come.
I
enjoy reading, writing, and playing all sorts of challenging and
fun games. I'm always striving to grow in my faith in Christ my
Savior. What I take pleasure in most is spending time with my
husband and daughters.
