Ash Wednesday Service
Wednesday, February 14, 2018, 4:30 PM - 5:15 PM
Ash Wednesday is February 14. Join us as we explore The Way of Christ during Lenten season.
Christianity was never meant to be a religion of works-Do this. Be better. Do More. Jesus came to do what we cannot do for ourselves, not to show us how to do things on our own. He came to live, suffer, die on the cross and rise from the dead to be our way to the Father. He didn’t come just to show us the way to the Father.
As Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
During Lent, Our Shepherd is going to share life by considering the truth about ourselves and the truth about God’s love in Christ. We will learn how Jesus became the Way to God for us. We will focus on who Christ is.
We will also consider our identity in Christ. We will discover who God created us to be. We will remember who Christ redeemed us to be. We will consider who the Spirit leads us to be.
The way of Christ is much more than what Jesus did. The way of Christ is much more than what God wants you to do. The way of Christ is recognizing Christ in your life and realizing your life is in Christ.
